Bad Dreams?

Recently I have been having reaaaaaaaaally good dreams. Ones that actually have meanings and makes sense. I really miss my friends back home and I keep dreaming that I'm in a beach back in the Philippines with them.

But last night, I had nice dream that lead on to this; being chased by cannibals! And when I woke up, I was sleeping horizontally on my bed. Weird?!

As soon as I woke up, I had to sketch this because I always forget my dreams... Also my friend burnt the toaster and the entire house was covered in smoke...

Minato

Wow, I haven't posted anything here in ages!

Here's something new, it's only a fanart, but I've been enjoying the latest chapters so far. It's weird, I haven't been in a naruto craze for a while, even though I still follow the series, I don't draw as much of it as I used to before... :S Maybe it's just cause I'm not too inspired at the moment... Meh.

Anyway, news, I've been slacking with the blog because I have been working on commissions lately, and I kind of juggle most of them so I can get them done in stages for the client.

Apart from that, I have also been working in a museum, doing a talk for the manga exhibition, and I've been teaching kids how to draw. Pretty exciting, and it's a good experience. The first time I did it, it was like pitching my film all over again. But it all went smooth after the first time.

I really need to get working on the new film I'm working on for next year, haven't really done anything for that... Though, it is the summer term and I kind of want to relax and make it stress free. Going to Japan this September, so that will be exciting! But yeah, that's all for now, I will try and keep this blog running soon, got some stuff I could post from last term's assessments. Peace!

Old Sketches

Hey guys, here are some sketches I've done on the way to China. I think I started these quite a while ago, when it was all rainy and cold.
But yeah, just a little update.

I think pitch week went well, I was the second one to pitch... I hope the first years haven't forgotten about that :S... I might post some of the concepts here 'cause I know some of them visit this site ^^... [Thanks guys!]. Need to sort out the votes I have to give out now. This is gonna be tricky.

I'll post more stuff soon! Again, the images were posted from end to start... So start with the last one.

China Land

Woah! Loooooooooong time since I last updated. Seems like I've been slacking, but nope. I was away on a placement in China. Was working for an animation studio there. It was quite new, so the company didn't seem very busy, and to be fair it looked very unprofessional and everyone seems to be laid back with their work, but they still take everything seriously. [As some of us experience whilst we were out there].

I've learnt a lot when I was out there, especially in story boarding, and how they work. Long hours from 9-9 every day wasn't too bad once you get used to it, since the work wasn't very heavy. I think they system there works as how much you can do not how long you can work for.

The company has changed a lot since I first saw it, the film they're working on, Back to the Sea has been in pre-production for quite a while now, maybe about 4 or 5 years now and they still keep changing stuff. But yeah, check their website for more details.

It was cool how the trip ended up being a holiday instead of a placement 'cause they took us out everywhere, and pretty much everything was paid for. Here's a few snapshots;

Whilst I was out there, I've been doing a lot of drawing, my journal of China was my sketchbook, so it was fun drawing people and places where ever you go. It's funny how this is the first time I've used a holiday as a drawing exercise... Makes it seem really sad, but if you're surrounded by fellow artist, you kinda have to do it and it's not as awkward. Haha. But yeah, the experience was great, and it was fun drawing people you see.

By the way, the order is reversed, so start from the bottom.

Dragunov

Speed painting for fun... Been playing Tekken 6 a lot recently. That game is too addictive!
Really like the new characters, specially Leo.

Been trying to play it online but its just so damn laggy, so been playing with my housemate. She says I cheat if I use combos on her, but she does spam a lot of Alisa's hard hits.

But yeah, that's all for now, just wanted to mess about with photoshop. Took about 1 hour. I did some progress shots, but I don't think there's much point posting it since they're quite big leaps in process...

peace!

A Levels

Here are some very old image I found in my sketchbook. These were done when I was in college, about 4 years ago? Yeah, I love painting with oils, need to practice them again because I have forgotten how to paint...

Went out to do some more night drawings, nothing much to draw except the road and cars. Got some fairly good results though. Would have done more, but there wasn't anything that interesting to draw really...

Today in life drawing we had a martial arts model posing for us. Quite exciting at first but then got extremely tedious towards the end, and I completely flopped it... They made us do 5 second drawings as our last exercise, and I don't think you'd want to see the result haha. But all in all a good session. Learned something new today, but I think the tutor was giving the same advice to everyone... Will post some up once I get a scan of them.

I also watched a film with my housemates, it was called 'The Descent'... According to people, it was one of the most 'scariest' film they've seen... But I didn't even jump one bit in that film... It just irritated the hell out of me because of the dumb characters. And the stupid monster looks like Voldemort.... So yeah. No. It doesn't even come close to being scary.

That's all for now.
