Animeeeelz

Err Yeah, here are some more stuff from first year. This is on the first trip to the Marwell zoo.

Not sure if this was the day we all got high.... That might have been the second day. But eh.
I wanna go draw animals some time, kinda missed my chance 'cause I was away in China land.
AHHHHH! this essay is driving me insane!

Golden Oldies

Hmm... Found some really old stuff from when I first joined the course :D

Boy has it been a busy week... Too much crap going on, and I have another frickin essay to write! Uh... I really really hate essays with a passion. Bleh, but after that I should be free... Hopefully. Then that way, I could continue working on commissions.

On the side note, I will be working for a company this summer. They wanted me to do this manga exhibition thing... Not entirely sure what I'm doing exactly, but I will be giving talks for about 2 hours every day, that's all I know. I think it's going to be held at St. Barbe Museum and Art Gallery in Lymington. So if you guys are around or near the place, do say hi ;)

Since summer break is nearing, I promise to update this as much as I can... Even if it's just some nonesense or old work.

Anyway, here you go, some art;

Old Sketches

Hey guys, here are some sketches I've done on the way to China. I think I started these quite a while ago, when it was all rainy and cold.
But yeah, just a little update.

I think pitch week went well, I was the second one to pitch... I hope the first years haven't forgotten about that :S... I might post some of the concepts here 'cause I know some of them visit this site ^^... [Thanks guys!]. Need to sort out the votes I have to give out now. This is gonna be tricky.

I'll post more stuff soon! Again, the images were posted from end to start... So start with the last one.

Need More

Aw man, I haven't done much life drawing year, I just checked my stuff fromUni and it turns out that I only had about 6 sketches... I really miss life drawing, I really have to do a lot on these last two week :S

Not very long till pitch week, and I still haven't fully churned out the stuff I have to do for it. I will start doing it once I get advice from the tutors. But yeah, here's a few crap that I have.

On the other hand, I've been playing final fantasy a lot... I'm 1 boss away from completing it, but I decided to do a bit of level grinding. So yeah, that's my life wasted.
Overall, good game though, at least the story was very good this time. But I'm not entirely sure about the game mechanics... The battle system is practically X-2 with the sphere grid and everything... But still, it's quite refreshing. :)

China Land

Woah! Loooooooooong time since I last updated. Seems like I've been slacking, but nope. I was away on a placement in China. Was working for an animation studio there. It was quite new, so the company didn't seem very busy, and to be fair it looked very unprofessional and everyone seems to be laid back with their work, but they still take everything seriously. [As some of us experience whilst we were out there].

I've learnt a lot when I was out there, especially in story boarding, and how they work. Long hours from 9-9 every day wasn't too bad once you get used to it, since the work wasn't very heavy. I think they system there works as how much you can do not how long you can work for.

The company has changed a lot since I first saw it, the film they're working on, Back to the Sea has been in pre-production for quite a while now, maybe about 4 or 5 years now and they still keep changing stuff. But yeah, check their website for more details.

It was cool how the trip ended up being a holiday instead of a placement 'cause they took us out everywhere, and pretty much everything was paid for. Here's a few snapshots;

Whilst I was out there, I've been doing a lot of drawing, my journal of China was my sketchbook, so it was fun drawing people and places where ever you go. It's funny how this is the first time I've used a holiday as a drawing exercise... Makes it seem really sad, but if you're surrounded by fellow artist, you kinda have to do it and it's not as awkward. Haha. But yeah, the experience was great, and it was fun drawing people you see.

By the way, the order is reversed, so start from the bottom.

Fall

Wow, been a long while since I've updated here... Been really busy with Uni, and trying to organise myself for the trip to China. Going in about two weeks! Quite exciting.

For news, well I haven't got anything new, been working in production, still waiting for my grades from the last assessments, done well on my advance drawing unit, so I'm pleased.

I've also volunteered for another production called 'Fall'. They were looking for a background artist, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

That's all for now!

Peace.

Martial Arts

Here are some life drawing, mainly gesture poses I've done. Learned some new stuff when doing this, plus it gets a bit confusing when you do a moving sequential... But all in all, good session I guess.

Pretty cool having a martial artist as a model compared to the usual models we get.
